Cloud Backup Solutions For Enterprise – Since you’re already evaluating cloud backup solutions, I’m not going to talk about the importance of the cloud for small businesses. Many businesses have already adopted an online backup solution or are in the process, so there must be some benefit. If you’re still unsure about how to integrate the cloud into your backup strategy, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Our blog post How to Create a Data Backup and Recovery Plan will help you get started.
Since we last wrote about them, their service offerings, prices, and features have changed. So, we’re revisiting online backup services once again to give you an updated comparison. We reviewed the online backup services that are most popular among small businesses. Out of all of them we selected the best 5 cloud backup services from a small business owner’s perspective. Competition among online backup providers is fierce and not all backup solutions from our last blog made it onto this new list.
Cloud Backup Solutions For Enterprise
Carbonite is still one of the most popular online backup solutions. For small businesses, you’ll need the Carbonite Safe Backup Pro plan. The basic plan includes up to 25 computers and includes 250 GB of cloud backup. Additional backups can be purchased separately. Carbonite Safe automatically backs up your computers, external storage, and network-attached storage (NAS) devices. It always backs up your data, but only file changes and new files are uploaded so it won’t disturb your internet connection too much.

Carbonite offers Anytime Anywhere Access, which allows you to log into your Carbonite account from any internet-connected device to view and download your backed-up files. You can then choose to restore all your backed up files, specific files and folders, or previous versions of your files in case they are accidentally deleted. Carbonite also supports compliance requirements such as HIPAA, FERPA, and SOC2.
Carbonite has a simple dashboard that allows administrators to view and manage enterprise-wide backups from one place. Through the dashboard, administrators can create, deploy and manage backup policies as well as manage account information such as registration information, security questions, passwords and payments. Carbonite’s remote deployment feature allows administrators to install and configure multiple devices from a single location remotely, which is greatly appreciated by administrators.
If your office has one or more servers, you’ll have to go for the Carbonite Safe server backup plan, which costs more than the basic business plan.
Backblaze is one of the top names in cloud storage solutions. Backblaze’s pricing structure is simple and straightforward. For a small business with a large amount of data, their unlimited backup is ideal. With the unlimited backup feature, comes the peace of mind you can’t get when backups are limited. Don’t worry about if and when you’re going to hit the backup limit and what happens when you do that; whether your files are backed up or not, it’s a huge burden on your mind.
Acronis Rolls Out Major Update To Its Enterprise Backup Solution
By default, it backs up everything on your device that isn’t part of the built-in file separation. Applications and system files are on its exclusion list and, therefore, are excluded. Also, it is not possible to back up selected folders only. However, it is possible to exclude folders and files through the settings menu; not the most friendly way in our opinion. Backblaze’s desktop interface is simple and bare bones. The interface does not have many options and even for recovering your data, you need to go to its web application.
Administrators can manage users by creating a business group, which employees must join and must agree to grant access to. This is not good for security or management. There are no comprehensive reporting tools, so compliance can be an issue. Also, Backblaze has semi-private encryption because you will have to send your password to Backblaze to recover your encrypted files.
Backblaze can back up to connected external storage, but does not allow network-attached storage devices. You will need a separate plan for the NAS backup server. Backblaze’s unique feature is its Free Hard Drive Recovery, where they send you your hard drive and data anywhere in the world and you can return the hard drive for a full recovery. It also allows you to set an optional encryption key but if you forget the key, even Backblaze can’t recover your data, so use this feature with extreme care.
Acronis is a feature-rich cloud backup solution suitable for any business of any size. It offers unlimited backup, which we always appreciate. While many other cloud backup services drop support for Linux, Acronis stands apart. It supports not only Linux but also physical and virtual servers. In addition, it also provides tools for Android and iOS smartphone backup. So at once, Acronis seems to be the perfect backup solution for businesses.
Cloud + Data Management
Acronis supports external devices including NAS devices. You need one license per computer but you are allowed to store multiple external backups if they are attached to the computer during the backup process. Acronis can also create local backups on your server or NAS, that is, you can create hybrid backups. This is a great feature that helps you implement a 3-2-1 backup strategy. Acronis supports image-based backup. This means you can restore to different machines and devices. The price of Acronis Cloud Storage is not included in the license fee and needs to be purchased separately. This makes Acronis more expensive compared to other backup services.
You need to download and install Acronis agent to manage users. The client is easy to use and fairly intuitive. By default, the backup agent backs up your entire machine. But you can choose to save only selected drives or folders. This is convenient for businesses as it will help reduce your backup costs. Acronis does not have continuous backups so you will have to rely on scheduled backups. This is not ideal if you make frequent changes to your files.
An administrator account allows you to create users, and browse connected devices, backup plans, settings, etc., as well as create user groups. Custom reporting and role-based access are also possible but you will need to purchase an Advanced license. The recovery process provides advanced features such as backup verification, file isolation, etc. It offers a good combination of great features and ease of use.
Encryption is not enabled by default, so you need to set it when you create your backup plan. The encryption is end-to-end and private, which is great for security. You can also set a password but you need to be careful with this feature because if you lose your password, Acronis cannot recover it.

CrashPlan for Small Business is becoming increasingly popular. By focusing only on small businesses, it has been able to provide great value for money. CrashPlan offers unlimited backups, no file size limit, and no limit on the number of computers that can be registered. In addition, you can back up as many external devices as you want.

Best Vmware Backup Tools For 2022
It’s desktop client is not easy to use. The client backs up based on file location. This means that you will need to manually label folders and files to back up. This is not ideal because it is easy to forget to label new files or folders. CrashPlan has two options for restoring your files. First is to use desktop client and second is to use web client. Using the web client you can restore up to 250 MB so for larger files you will need to use the desktop client.
IDrive is another cloud backup solution that comes packed with features. While it doesn’t offer unlimited backups, it does allow you to backup unlimited devices including smartphones, external hard drives, NAS, and servers. iDrive also allows you to back up to local devices. So you can create a hybrid backup using the 3-2-1 strategy. With iDrive, you can create a disk image, which is convenient if you need to restore your operating system to your computer.
Like many other cloud backup services, iDrive’s features include scheduled backups. IDrive’s file printing capabilities are limited and
